A little touch up here, a little touch up there...

One reason I love some of these photo blog hops is because I have learned some editing techniques from visiting the blogs and reading the steps they take to edit... so for this session, I went into the archives and followed one blogger's techniques and through a little in of my own.

Mandy, who've I've had the wonderful pleasure of virtually getting to know and forming as close a relationship as the blogsphere would allow, took one of my photos and edited it in her style, documented her steps and shared it for all of us to see and learn for Touch Up Tuesday.      You can see what she did HERE, but what for what I did... keep reading...

{Taken with my Nikon D5000}

What I did:

  • Opened the photo in ACR and adjusted the clarity, vibrance, and brightness to my likeness
  • Opened in Adobe CS
  • Ran Florabella's Sharpen/Defog Action
  • Merge Visible layers
  • Selected area of furthest depth using the quick selection tool and adjusted the colors of Green, Yellow, and Cyan using  Selective Color
  • Merge Visible layers
  • Ran Florabella's Starlet Action and adjusted each layer to my liking {some I increased, some I decreased in opacity}
  • Merge Visible Layers
  • Ran My Four Hens' Blended Action and lowered action opacity to 19%
  • Flattened Image

  7. I LOVE reading how you do your edits - it always gives me some new ways to think about editing! I just got the Florabella Luxe set (I noticed you used Starlet), and I'm just in love with the beautiful actions. Gorgeous edit!

  8. Very cool Jhen!!! I couldn't agree with you more when it comes to photo blog hops. It has helped tremendously with my editing and Mandy does a great job.

    Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving the beautiful comment you left yesterday. I have really gone back to writing as God moves and it is amazing how much better I feel. Have a blessed Thanksgiving and I love the Christmas card idea. I think Chelsey's challenge has been so much fun and I can't wait to see more of them as they are posted.
