Bird farms have never been at the top of my "must visit" list. I think of all the droppings from the sky and I think, "nah, I'll skip this one", but Josselyn has been desperate for friends! She points and screams with delight everytime another kid is in her presence. Its precious and sad at the same time... she has no kids to play with.
So I sucked it up and took her to the Bird Farm for a mom's group play date. But Josselyn could care less about the birds, animals, and other children for that matter.... she was in a world FULL of little rocks and she just LOVED it.
BUT... that same day, MY DAUGHTER was the object of someone's affection.... and something I always dreamed would happen to me as a teenage girl, happened to her as a 10 month old, she caught the glance of a gentleman and he was instantly smitten!
You know how in the movies, a beautiful girl is minding her own beautiful business when a guy is walking by, catches a glance of her and falls in love and the slow motion love stare occurs? Well, this is what happened to Joss... SO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION
Yes, that all actually happened. I was snapping away at my daughter admiring the rocks when this boy runs by, sees Joss, and comes back to swoop her away with kisses, hugs, and hand holding. I have never met this kid or his mother. His mother, unsure of his behavior eventually decided it was time to go, and as she tore him away from my daughter {his new found love} he kicked and screamed and held his arm out to her begging for reunification... and hilariously, Joss just stared at him... Oh dear, what will our future hold...
Awe! Who wouldn't fall head over heels for little Josselyn?? So glad to hear that you got our with some other Moms! It's fun, right??
ReplyDeleteOh that is so cute! And that little boy's mother sounds exactly like what I do almost every time that I bring my 3 year old son to the park! He's like Joss--he didn't really grow up around other little kids (he still goes a little whacky when around other little kids :D but things have gotten better! He still hugs the girls and holds their hands though if they let him)
ReplyDeleteI love the string of pictures showing Joss's first little admirer! Have you heard a song by Rodney Atkins called "Cleaning this Gun (Come on in Boy)". It's cute.
