The Real Toy Story

I had a very dramatic imagination growing up.  I could turn my bedroom into anything I wanted.  From Pooh's Corner to the Titanic, my mind allowed my surroundings to create a world that would let me believe that I was who I wanted to be.

I can remember a little stuffed animal I had.  A plush puppy.  And I loved her.  She was white and soft and I named her Dixie.  I imagined she was real.  I always kept her near for fear she would feel abandoned.  I believed she had real feelings and real love to give.  I lived the real Toy Story.

Fast forward to present day and I see glimpses of me in my little girl.

She has a deep infatuation with her baby dolls.  And to watch her play is to see imagination at it's finest.  And I love seeing her discover a world where she can create things out of nothing.

And as she lives out her real Toy Story, we find these moments....

SHE LOVED IT!  I have never seen her so excited about being surrounded by the little things she loves.  And as long as we help her remain in reality, I want to embrace her moments of traveling to a world full of Imagination!

  10. Cute, cute, cute. This made me remember my childhood days. I too had a vivid imagination. I can recall apologizing to some of my toys because "Baby Sarah" was my favorite and they would just have to understand that I liked her better. :) Sweet memories.
