4 Day Weekend!

So after spending weeks by myself at home, I was greatly looking forward to having the company of my husband for four days in a row!

On Friday night we did nothing but veg! We were at the end of our week of our church family bringing over dinner (since my surgery), so we just decided to stay at home and sit in front of the TV which actaully was one of the most relaxing and enjoying time for us.

Saturday morning, a friend from San Diego came down and her and her mother put together a small tea party for me and it was the most amazing scones, salad, sandwiches, and chocolate covered strawberries I have ever had. A truly amazing tea party and visit!

Sunday we had a day at church (my first day being back since the surgery) and to be honest, it was a little difficult. I had thought that I had toughened up my skin from specific comments people would make regarding the miscarriage but apparently I was wrong. I know I need to have patience and understanding from where people are coming from, but if only people can sometimes say nothing but "I'm sorry". After church Jon and I hosted a bbq at our home (since we have the pool) and my family as well as my mom and aunt's childhood friend along with her family came. My mom bbq the meat while I was in charge of decorating and dessert.

It was my first outdoor shin dig and I always love to entertain so I try to go big, but it was a learning process.
Monday we had the pleasure of entertaining my friend from Whittier here in Yucaipa. We showed her what it was like to live in Yucaipa as well as shop (since there is such a lack of stores in town). We drove down to Victoria Gardens and I had never been there before so it was fun to check it out. Jon tagged along with us which was even funner. I came home with some amazing boots!
So now we're on today. My last day with Jon before he goes back to work. Not sure what the plans are, but I think it has something to do with planning our vacation to New England in October...
